March 29th-April 1st Week in Preview

It's a new quarter!!! Fourth Quarter!! Last one of the year!! Let's end on a high note and make it the best yet! Our CRT tests will be mid-May so it would be a good idea to start reviewing old notes from the entire year and refreshing your mind on past material. We still have some new material to get through before we will spend class time reviewing.

Here's how this week will look...

Geometry:

Tuesday/Wednesday March 29th/30th

We have now gone through all the trig functions (sine, cosine, and tangent). The important thing now is to know when to use each one. Today we will spend the day working on a packet that mixes them together and forces you to decide whether to use sine, cosine, or tangent to solve.
HOMEWORK: Finish the Trig Practice Problem Packet

Thursday/Friday March 31st/April 1st

In preparation for using our trig functions with special right triangles (30-60-90 triangles and 45-45-90 triangles) we will spend this day reviewing/learning how to simplify rational expressions and focusing on how to rationalize the denominator.
HOMEWORK: Pg 745 #1-6, 9-12, 17-18 and Rational Expression worksheet

Algebra II:

Tuesday/Wednesday March 29th/30th

We are continuing with our Probability unit and will be working in section 6-7 of the textbook. Today's objective is to count permutations and combinations (remember with permutations order matters and with combinations order doesn't matter) then to find probability using permutations and combinations.
HOMEWORK: Pg 348 #1-17 (odd), 18, 19-29 (0dd), 30, 46-49, 56, 78

Thursday/Friday March 31st/April 1st

We will find the probability of multiple events and conditional probability meaning finding the probability of event A AND B, the probability of event A OR B. We will also use formulas and tree diagrams for conditional probability (all of this is section 9-7 in the textbook).
HOMEWORK: Pg 534 #1-13, 15-25 (odd), 31-39 (odd), Pg 656 #1-12

Let's make the first week of the quarter a GREAT start!!

March 21st-28th Week in Preview

Third quarter is coming to a close...end this Friday, March 25th!! I have to have grades ready by Friday so the deadline to turn ANYTHING in for 3rd quarter is WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23rd!

Here is how the last week of the quarter will go...

Geometry:

Monday/Tuesday March 21st/22nd

We are starting our trigonometry unit by learning about the sine function. REMEMBER SIN = OPPOSITE/HYPOTENUSE.
HOMEWORK: Pg 367 #7,12,14,18-21(sine only),22,25,28,31,35,37,40

Wednesday/Thursday March 23rd/24th

We will focus mainly on the cosine function. COSINE = ADJACENT/HYPOTENUSE.
HOMEWORK: PG 367 #8,9,18-21(cosine only),24,27,30,32,34,38,41

Friday/Monday March 25th/28th

We will focus on the tangent function. TANGENT = OPPOSITE/ADJACENT.
HOMEWORK: Pg 367 #10,11,13,18-21(tangent only),23,26,29,33,36,39,42

Algebra II:

Monday/Tuesday March 21st/22nd

This is our only review day for the term final so please don't miss and work hard!!
HOMEWORK: Third Term Final Review

Wednesday/Thursday March 23rd/24th

Day of the Term Final!! PLEASE BE IN CLASS! This will go on 3rd term's grade and has to be taken by Thursday so I can get it graded.
HOMEWORK: None

Friday/Monday March 25th/28th

First day of our Probability unit. We will learn how to find probabilities of various events and make and use probability distributions. (Ch 1-6 and 12-1 in the textbook)
HOMEWORK: Pg 42 #6-9, 24-33, Pg 651 #3-6, 8

Let's make it another GREAT week!!

March 15th-18th Week in Preview

HAPPY PI DAY YESTERDAY!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed having Pi Day off and I hope you got to eat some pie. I know I sure had a great time celebrating the day!

The end of 3rd quarter is quickly coming upon us and we have much to do in preparation.

Here is this week's schedule...

Geometry:

Tuesday/Wednesday March 15th/16th

Coordinate Geometry Review Day!! We will spend the period reviewing everything from this unit. The Test Review looks much like the actual test so my recommendation is to complete and study the Test Review.
HOMEWORK: Coordinate Geo Test Review (All missing work for this unit is due the day of the test!)

Thursday/Friday March 17th/18th

TEST DAY!!!! We will be taking the coordinate geometry test, checking notebooks, enjoying a night off from homework.
HOMEWORK: None

Our next unit is Trigonometry so come ready next week to learn new material!

Algebra II:

Tuesday/Wednesday March 15th/16th

We will spend the day learning how to add and subtract rational expressions (chapter 9-5). Make sure you are practicing and perfecting factoring and review your fraction rules.
HOMEWORK: Pg 517#4,8,11-21(odd),31,32,34,56,57,66,68,71

Thursday/Friday March 17th/18th

We will finish our rational expression unit with learning how to solve rational equations (chapter 9-6). We will not be having a test on this unit but the material will be on the term final.
HOMEWORK: Pg 524 #1-21(odd),26,28,30,39,42,60,61,62,65,66

Term ends on March 25th. The term final will be March 23rd/24th. ALL MISSING WORK WILL BE DUE ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 23rd!!!

Let's make it a great week!!

March 8th-11th Week in Preview

The end of the quarter is sneaking up on us quickly and many students have much to make up from either being gone or just not completing their homework. Quarter ends on the 25th of March and all work will be due the 23rd so start now to get yourself on track, please!

Here is what this week will look like...

Geometry:

Tuesday/Wednesday March 8th/9th

We will learn our last lesson in the Coordinate Geometry using some of the properties we have learned about our shapes and using the distance formula and slope formula. We will be plotting out shapes and them proving them to be certain shapes by showing that lines are parallel or perpendicular and that lines are congruent.
HOMEWORK: Verifying Shapes wkst

Thursday/Friday March 10th/11th

This day will either be a make-up day or a Pi Day party depending on the amount of missing assignments in your period. (Your class must have less than 40% of the class with missing assignments in order to celebrate Pi Day.)
HOMEWORK: Get all missing work in for this unit before the test next week

Algebra II:

Tuesday/Wednesday March 8th/9th

We will be taking the Chapter 13 test on the trigonometry functions.
HOMEWORK: None

Thursday/Friday March 10th/11th

We will start our new unit, Chapter 9 on Rational Expression operations. Our first day will be spent learning how to simplify rational expressions and multiply and divide rational expressions.
HOMEWORK: Pg 511 #1-19 (0dd), 27, 28, 51, 52, 55, 56

As always, let's make it a great week!!
