Today was a little rough...maybe it was just me. Here's what we did:
Geometry: We added more new vocabulary to our math language skills. We defined Line Segments, Rays, Vertex, Angle, and Congruent. We then did a practice matching to solidify our knowledge of these terms. We also practiced measuring angles with protractors and line segments with rulers.
HOMEWORK: Pg 16 #11,25-27, 41; Pg 19 #1-3, Pg 34 #12-26 (evens)
Algebra II: We had to make up for last time and ended up with a LONG day of note taking...sorry. (If you missed, you will need to borrow and copy notes from a classmate.) In our notes we discussed solving ALL types of equations and checking our answers. We also learned how to solve formulas for each variable. And finally we added in solving and graphing inequalities...even compound inequalities. REMEMBER: The difference between solving equations and solving inequalities comes in that last step. If you divide or multiply by a negative number you need to change the direction of the inequality!
HOMEWORK: Pg 21 #3-27 (multiples of 3), 39, 40, 44, 48; Pg 29 #1-31 (odd), 41, 42 (In B3, we ran out of time because of the assembly so the assignment on Pg 29 is #1-31 (every other odd), 41, 42)
(remember to check your answers on any 3 equations and any 3 inequalities...that's 6 total.)
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALGEBRA II: Upcoming unit 1 test on Thurs/Fri Sept 9/10
As always, I am here to help so please come see me with questions!!!
